Mike Hughes has served as the Managing Broker of Downing-Frye Realty since 2000 and later became Vice President in 2006. In his role, Hughes takes great pride in helping successful real estate agents take their careers to the next level so they can become more productive and profitable.

As the Managing Broker, Hughes is responsible for managing the firm’s day-to-day operations as well as leading the Naples and Collier County-based agents. Though several hundred agents report to him, he enjoys the personal connections that give the large firm the feel of a family-owned business.

Over the past 50 years, Downing-Frye has set the standard for excellence among its agents by combining cutting edge technology, with extensive training, as well as one-on-one mentoring for newly licensed agents and customized coaching for experienced agents. Downing-Frye has six corporate teachers that run monthly courses on the best practices in sales, marketing, leadership, and technologies.

The results are quantifiable, as Downing-Frye typically carries about 1,000 listings at any given time and the average closing price is nearly $500,000. The brokerage has partnerships with LuxuryRealEstate.com as well as the International MLS, attracting high net-worth clients from local, national, and international markets.

As an advocate for the industry, for more than 20 years Hughes has volunteered on committees and task forces at the Naples Area Board of Realtors, where he is currently a member of the Community Involvement Committee and the Media Relations Committee. He is a past-director and past-president (2015). Additionally, he has served on the board of directors of the Florida Realtors for over 13 years, where he is currently chairman of the Investment and Treasury Management Committee and the Broker Engagement Committee. Hughes utilizes his knowledge to provide Downing-Frye associates with a competitive edge in building a lasting and successful real estate career.

Hughes has been recognized with many awards through the years including the Florida Realtors Realtor Achievement Award in 2017 (among 180,000 members), NABOR Realtor of the Year award, and been twice voted NABOR’s Humanitarian of the Year.
